I used my Silhouette Cameo to make a quickie card this week from Sanqunetti Design's new Easter Chicks and Peeps SVG file.
I decided to play with vellum in various colours and remembered to use the trapping technique to hide all traces of adhesive. Can you spot four places where vellum was used? More to the point, can you see any adhesive?
Vellum and adhesive are here:
Wings (trapped between two copies of the body),
Bow tie (beneath the knot on the bow),
Beak (under the other beak part) & finally,
the Cool Shades (under the frames).
Did you find them all?
The file can be purchased here.

Free Silhouette Spring Flower Design and Some News!
Are you in love with high contrast design as much as I am? I loved using it in this week's card made with the free design from the Silhouette Design Store.
There is a free design available every week in the Silhouette Design Store, free to anyone with a free, or subscription account. Files are in the STUDIO file format, usable only with the Silhouette Design software (also free to download). You can use this software in conjunction with the Silhouette machines (Cameo, Portrait, Curio etc.), but you can still play, even before you purchase a machine.
I like to call this scheme black and white with a 'pop' [of colour].
The flower image is made by creating an external offset, and adhering seven copies directly on top of one another with a piece of acetate sealed in the central section. The white part is cut in its original state and added on top.
Now the central part forms a well encompassing a TINY shaker filled with black iridescent (or AB, Aurora Boreal) seed beads, hence why all the layers are required!
The sentiment writing is made using a white sketch pen in the pen holder (in place of the cutting blade) with one of the design store fonts and the heart element from a file, both available in the design store and listed below. The banner shape is a modified rectangle and created in the software.
And there we have it! Black and White with a Pop AND a shake (noisy card)!
Oh, the news?

Three Cards from One Car
I love a versatile cutting file for a card topper and there is a lovely new one available at Sanqunetti Design this week. The delightful Happy Car SVG File is a great basis for Moving, Bon Voyage, Friendship or Birthday Cards - so versatile!
This week I've used the same car topper on three different cards, all birthday cards, only the start of the combinations YOU could make! The one above has a card shaped to the shape of the car and it's visitor. This is an easy option with the Silhouette cutting machine.
On this next card, the car topper is attached to a conventional square card blank.
Finally, the car topper is mounted onto a tri-fold card - lots of places for sentiments and personal messages.

Carousel with a teal feel
If you have a Silhouette machine of any sort, don't forget to download the free file from the Silhouette Design Store every week.
New files are posted each Tuesday morning, when the previous week's file reverts to the normal price. I guess I'm addicted; even when I'm on my hols I checkout each week's freebie on my iPad, and download them to the Silhouette Design software when I get home!
I made this carousel card from design #115734, which was a free file back in January and is still available at the store. I love the design and really like the way that the card turned out. It cut beautifully, even the tiny stirrup pieces! I used Silhouette brand Adhesive-backed Cardstock in mint and pink and AC sea foam cardstock.
I love those teal colours!
